This program is intended to be displayed whenever rental agents are not actively involved in transactions. The system can be configured to refresh the screen automatically at set intervals with new reservations that are received and to drop those that have been filled. The data can also be refreshed at any time by pressing a function key.
Set up: The programs and additional fields in certain control files affect the way that Online Reservation Display works. To configure it to your preference, configure the following settings:Use this program to define what data columns are shown and the order in which the columns are shown. Data displayed can vary by location as well as for open reservations vs reservation requests.
Use this to determine if the display should be limited to certain types of reservations when the F4 REFRESH key is pressed.
Page 3, Field # 38: Refresh Rate: For the Online Reservation Display program and the Online Non-Rev Display program, enter the number of minutes that are allowed to elapsed before the system automatically refreshes the screen display. This field will accept up tor 2 numeric characters. For example, entering "15" in this field means that the screen of the online display programs will be automatically refreshed every 15 minutes.
Page 3, Field # 39: Hilite Hours: For the Online Reservation Display program, enter the number of hours of reservations that should be high-lighted on the screen. For example, entering "4" in this field means that reservations from the current time through the next 4 hours will be high-lighted.
EDIT MISCELLANEOUS CONTROL FIELDS
Page 1, Field # 32: No Show Age in Hours: Enter up to 2 numeric characters to indicate the number of hours a reservation can be past due before you consider it a no-show. For Online Reservation Display, this means that unfilled reservations will drop off of the screen if this number of hours has gone by since the pickup time. For example, entering "3" in this field means that a reservation with a pickup time of 12 noon that goes unfilled will drop off of the screen at 3 p.m. In addition, when the res is past due, it will blink. (Or, ask Thermeon's Customer Support Dept. to configure your system in such a manner that the past due reservations are still listed, but do not blink.)
This records can be set up so that when this program is run for a particular rental counter (Cash Drawer) that only those reservations involving flights that are serviced by this counter are displayed. In addition to the set up in Edit Flights for Locations, the field "Drawer Input" in Configure Res Display must be set to "Y".
User tip: When “limited access” logic is set up for certain users, this is one of the programs affected. Refer to the chapter of the manual titled Apx – Limited Access for details.
To access the program do one of the following:

Data is displayed as follows:
This screen displays 20 open reservations at a time for the next 24 hours in order by pickup date and time. Use the F8 key to scroll to the next 20 reservations. Use the F4 key to re-start the display (scrolling backwards is not allowed.)
Column Headings: For a complete list and definitions of all column headings, see the chapter Configure Res Display.
Blinking reservations: These are at the top of the list and are past due (potential no-shows). Once the past due reservations are older than the number of hours defined in the No Show Age field of the Edit Miscellaneous File (minimum 1 hour), they will drop off of the screen. (Shown above in bold italics with the assumption that the current time is 9:30 am and the no shows are set to drop off after 2 hours.) Note: Your system can be configured so that the past due reservations do not blink. If you prefer this setting, contact Thermeon's Customer Support Dept. Your system can also be configured so that you can change the starting time of the reservations displayed to an earlier time. See details about this below under the “F4” key in the Function Keys section of this chapter.
Highlighted reservations: These are reservations coming up within your high lighted window time defined in the Edit Location file. (Shown above in bold.)
Columns: See the chapter on Configure Res Display for the definitions of the columns of data that are displayed.
Note: Like the Reservation Manifest, if airlines are assigned to the user's drawer, data will be filtered. Only those reservations with the assigned airlines will display. Reservations without flight information will appear on the display for all drawers assigned to the pick-up location. If airlines are not assigned to drawers, all reservations for a pick-up location will appear for all drawers assigned to that location.
SHORTCUT TO OPENING A RA:
When a reservation is selected from this screen by
entering the appropriate line number at the "OPTION" field, press (RET) and the RA Open
screen will appear and the reservation information is passed to it. If the reservation is marked as a chauffeur transaction by its Type Code, the reservation is loaded in the Open Chauffeur Ticket program.
FUNCTION KEYS:
F1 = Switches to the RA Open screen without any reservation data being passed.
F2 = Switches to a blank RA Close screen
F3 = Switches to a blank Reservation screen
F4 = A.) Refreshes the display; B.) allows the display to be for more than 1 day; C.) narrows display to certain types of reservations; or D.) a specific CDPID.
A. Refreshes the display
A field in the Location record can be configured to automatically refresh the screen at a set interval or you can refresh it at any time by pressing "F4". See the field "Refresh Rate" in Edit Locations. To refresh it more frequently, press F4.
B. Displaying more than 1 day: Reservations that are more than 24 hours into the future can be viewed by responding to the next prompt:
ENTER NUMBER OF DAYS OF RES'S TO DISPLAY OR PRESS RETURN TO ACCEPT VALUE _1_
The default value for this is 1 day. If you change the value, the new value will then be the default until you exit the Online Res Display program.
Displaying earlier reservations: A field in the control file defines the number of hours an open reservation will remain on the screen. For example, assume that field is set to 3 hours at an airport location. When flights are delayed for more than 3 hours, the reservations for customers on those flights will have dropped off the screen. The system can be configured so that a third prompt is displayed which allows the starting time of the display to be changed. The prompt is:
ENTER START TIME OR PRESS RETURN TO ACCEPT xxxx_______
(where xxxx is the current time used to start the display. )
To have this feature added to the system, contact Thermeon's Customer Support Dept. and ask that GVT record NOSTIME be set up.Enter an earlier time or press (RET) to accept the time displayed.
C. Narrowing the display
There are fields in Configure Res Display that can turn on additional questions when F4 is pressed. For example, the user can be asked if they to display only:
- Gold reservations
- Insurance reservations
- VIP reservations
- VIP and Gold reservations
The user will only be able to answer Yes to one of the questions presented.
Refer to the chapter Configure Res Display for details.
D. CDPID #
In the same window as the VIP, Gold, and Insurance question(s), a field is provided where a CDPID# can be entered. Entering a CDPID number will cause the display to include only those reservations with that CDPID number.
F6 = Switches to the reservation search program. If a reservation is selected from the search, the reservation data is passed to the RA Open screen.
F7 = help files if available
F8 = Brings up the next reservations 20 at a time. To go back to the beginning, press F4 to Refresh.
REQUEST STATUS RESERVATIONS
To obtain a list of request reservations (those in status “R”), enter “R” (RET) at the “OPTION” field. The column headings may change for the Request status reservations (illustrated below).
