Rental operations at large airports often run separate rental counters in each terminal. It is often convenient to set up internal locations in CARS+ to represent each terminal. This program is used to designate which flight numbers for each airline arrive at the different terminals or rental counters.

For example, assume an airport has a domestic terminal and an international terminal. Although all of the reservations are for the main airport location code, the rental operation needs to divide the reservations so that each of the terminals can access their reservations through the Reservation Manifest, Vehicle Prep Report, and Res Display.

Two types of records can be added to this file:

To access Edit Flights for Locations, type EDTFLI (RET) at any menu "OPTION:"field or the appropriate line number on the Location Control Files Menu. The screen will then display:

Enter data as follows:

1. RESERVATION LOC.

Enter the pick up location code used by the reservation interface program.

EXAMPLE: Type TOR10 (RET)

2. START DATE

Using your selected date format, enter the pick up date when this location conversion should begin.

EXAMPLE: Type 010116 (RET)

3. END DATE

Using your selected date format, enter the pick up date when this location conversion should end. If there is not a definite ending date, this field can be blank.

Press (RET)

4. AIRLINE CODE

Enter the airline code.

EXAMPLE: Press AC (RET)

5. START FLIGHT NO.

This field and the next one define a range of flight numbers. Reservations with a flight number in this range will be converted. Enter a starting flight number.
The flight number fields are alpha-numeric and accept up to 10 characters. If the flight number range is numeric, use leading zeros so that all numbers within the range are included. For example, to include numbers 1 - 100, enter '001' in this field and '100' in the next field.

6. END FLIGHT NO.
Enter an ending flight number.

EXAMPLE: Type 199 (RET)

7. PICKUP LOC
Enter the Location Code that should be used for servicing these flights. Note, if data is entered into this field, the next field must remain empty.

8. PICKUP DRW

Enter the Drawer Code for the counter that should be used for servicing these flights. This field cannot be used if data was entered in Field 7.

PRESS "F1" AT "OPTION" TO SAVE THE RECORD.
