Circumstances may call for allowing certain users to access CARS+, yet limit their access to only those transactions taking place at their location.For this purpose, limited access can be set up.
II. REQUIRED SET-UP STEPS
A. EDIT USER ACCESS FILE (Security Menu)
Page 2, Field 38: Limited Access
In order to impose limited access, the user’s record must be set to “Y” in this field.
B. EDIT TERMINAL RECORD (System Configurations Menu)
Field 11: Default Location
This field controls what transactions the user can access.
III. LIMITATIONS IMPOSED
A. RESERVATIONS
1. The pick up location is the user’s default location and cannot be changed.
2. Only those reservations for pickup at the user’s default location can be brought up on the screen.
3. The following searches (using F6) are disabled:
Vehicle
Vendor
Rate
Class Availability
Quotes
Suburb
Adjuster
Itinerary
Turndown
Foreign locationCDPID
4. The searches using Shift/F7 for vehicle classes and rates are disabled.
5. The drawer number cannot be changed.

B. RA OPEN AND BATCH OPEN
1. The renting location is the user’s default location and cannot be changed.
2. Only those RAs opening at the user’s default location can be brought up on the screen.
3. The following searches (using F6) are disabled:

1. The closing location is the user’s default location and cannot be changed.
2. Only those RAs that opened at the user’s default location can be brought up on the screen.
3. The following searches (using F6) are disabled:

Damage4. The drawer number cannot be changed.
D. REPRINT RA
Only those RAs opening at the user’s default location can be accessed for a reprint.
E. ON-LINE RES DISPLAY
1. Only those reservations for pickup at the user’s default location can be displayed.
2. Access to the function key to change locations is blocked.
F. SEARCHES
The following search programs are limited:
1. Reservation File: Pickup location must be the user’s default location.
2. RA File: Opening location must be the user’s default location.
3. Deposit/Payment File: Deposit location must be the user’s default location.
4. Customer File: The creating location must be the user’s default location.
