Use this program to create, edit or delete codes indicating types of assets to be entered and tracked.

Many rental operations offer optional equipment such as handheld GPS units, child restraint seats, ski racks, handtrucks, etc. In order to know the availability and to manage the rental of these non-vehicle items, similarly to how vehicles are managed in CARS+, they are defined as inventory units using the Vehicle Inventory Control program. Asset Codes must be defined and applied in the equipment's Class Code record to distinguish these non-vehicle items from vehicles.

Refer to the chapter titled Appendix – Tracking Optional Equipment for more information.

To access the program, type EDITA (RET) or EDITASST (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Fleet Control Files Menu. The screen will then display:

Y = Selects all Inventory records which meet the qualifying criteria for the report without regard to this field.

N = Selects only those Inventory records where this field is set to "Y" and which meet the other qualifying criteria for the report.

O = Selects only those Inventory records where this field is NOT set to "Y" and which meet the other qualifying criteria for the report.

The Vehicle Status Report is an example of one of the reports which has this selection ability.

4. ASSET TYPE
This field is provided for Hertz installations. Enter one of the following if they apply. Otherwise, leave this field blank.
