Use this program to capture current data in the file that is used to produce the Daily Operations Report. This program can be either:

Note: To enter historical data (data for days other than today) or to manually correct previously stored data, refer to the Edit Operations Count chapter of the CARS+ Manual.

WARNING: One of the purposes of the Daily Operations Report is to report the res build for the next 7 days. When this report is run automatically every day, the res build is calculated at that moment. When it's run for a date in the past, however, "at this moment" doesn't have relevance because the date is in the past. Therefore, the res "build" concept is lost when running the update for a past date - and the "build" will not be a true reflection of what it was at the time.

To access the Operations Statistics Update program, type OPSCNT (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Additional Daily Tasks Sub-Menu located on the Daily Procedures Menu. The screen will then display:

OPTION: OPERATIONS STATISTICS UPDATE

1 Run Date 04-19-13
Location ALL
2 Replace Existing? N
3 Create Detail File? N

1BEGIN 2 3ERASE 4 5BACKUP 6 7HELP 8

Enter data as follows:

1. RUN DATE

Press (RET) to default to the current date. When run for today's current date, the program actually collects data for the previous completed day. See the note on field 2 below and the warning above if any other date is entered.

EXAMPLE: Press (RET)

LOCATION

This is a display only field which is set for "ALL" locations.

2. REPLACE EXISTING?

Enter:

Y = If you are re-running this program for dates that have already been processes but for which you want to replace the current data with new counts.

N = If you only want to load data for dates that have not been previously processed.

EXAMPLE: Press Y (RET)

USER TIP: When in doubt, enter "Y". Other wise, if the program had been run before, the new data will just be added to the data from the previous run.

3. CREATE DETAIL FILE?
This field is designed to be used by Thermeon Customer Support personnel when debugging problems.

The screen will then display:

OPTION: OPERATIONS STATISTICS UPDATE

1 Run Date 04-19-04
Location ALL
2 Replace Existing? Y
3 Create Detail File? N

1BEGIN 2 3ERASE 4 5BACKUP 6 7HELP 8

PRESS "F1" AT "OPTION:" TO BEGIN PROCESSING.

This program contains a calculation of rental length called "DBR Days" (or just "Days"). One of two possible formulas are used in CARS+ to calculate this figure. To chose the formula to be used in this as well as over fifty other CARS+ reports, go to Page 5, Field 3 of Edit Miscellaneous Control Fields.
