The Rate Edit Report is used to:

Changes to rates are stored in a log file and are turned on through a flag for Transaction Logging in the Edit Misc Control Fields screen. Besides the change itself being recorded in the log file, the date of the change is recorded as well as the employee code of the user making the change. This program reads the changes recorded in the log file and produces a report of those changes.

This report may be configured to run automatically at night. Users interested in this feature should contact Thermeon's Customer Support Dept. for further information.

To access this program, type RTEDIT (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number from the Month End menu. The screen will display as follows:

Enter data as follows:

1. START DATE

Fields 1 -4 are used to define a date and time range during which edits to rates on RAs and Reservations have been made. The report will show the entire history for that Reservation or RA. For RAs that are created from a Reservation, the "entire history" includes the Reservation.

Using your selected date format, enter the Starting Date. Press RET to default to yesterday's date.

EXAMPLE: Type 021004 (RET)

2. START TIME

Using your selected date format, enter the Starting Time. Press RET to default to the first minute of the day.

EXAMPLE: Type 0800 (RET)

3. END DATE

Using your selected date format, enter the Ending Date. Press RET to default to yesterday's date.

EXAMPLE: Type 022004 (RET)

4. END TIME

Using your selected time format, enter the Ending Time. Press RET to default to the last minute of the day.

EXAMPLE: Type 1900 (RET)

5. START RA

To limit the report to a specific RA or group of RAs, enter up to 8 alphanumeric characters to indicate the lowest or starting RA number in the series you wish to select. Press RET to default to "FIRST".

6. END RA

Enter up to 8 alphanumeric characters to indicate the highest or ending RA number in the series you wish to select. Press RET to default to "LAST.

7. EMPL

Enter up to 6 alphanumeric characters to select a single Employee code. This will restrict the report to records that were edited by this employee only. Press RET to default to All Employees

8. LOCATION

For the opening location, enter

  1. Up to 6 alphanumeric characters to select a single location.
  2. A Group Name representing several locations (see the Chapter Edit Group Names for a discussion on location groups). Remember, the first character of a Group Name is the plus sign "+".

Press RETURN to accept the default of ALL locations.

9. EDIT TYPE

This field refers to the type of information that was edited. These edits can take place to the information on the Reservation or the RA. Enter

R = Rental Rate was edited (daily, weekly monthly, extra day, extra hours)

D = Discount amount or percent was edited

M = Rate for chargeable miles/kms was edited

C = CDPID rate was edited

Or Press (RET) to default to all types.

10. EDIT FUNCTION

This field refers to point at which the edit was made. Enter:

1 = On an open Reservation

2 = At the time of RA Open

3 = Editing an Open RA

4 = At the time of RA Close

5 = Editing a Closed RA

6 = In pre-printing a RA

Or Press (RET) to include to all 6 functions.

11. MIN DISC %

By entering a discount percentage here, the report will ignore any RA where the change in the discount percent is less than the percentage entered. For example, entering "10" in this field means that edits to discounts from zero to 10 percent or from 5 percent to 10 percent would be ignored. But edits to discounts greater than 10 percent would be included in the report. Thus a discount of 25, 50, or 100 percent would be reported.

12. RES SOURCE

This fields allows you to limit the report based on where the reservation originated. Enter:

N = Res was received from a national res. center via the Res Interface program.

L = Res was entered locally (not received through Res Interface program)

B = Include both kinds of reservations regardless of how they were received.

13. INC COMMENTS

For those users who are using the Incident Entry program, this field allows you to include the "comments" that are entered when making an Incident Entry associated with the rate edit. Enter

Y = Yes, include the comments.

N = No, don't include the comments.

14. SORT ORDER

Use this field to choose the order in which the data should be listed. Enter:

R = In order by RA Number

E = In order first by Employee Code and then by RA#

EXAMPLE: Type E (RET)

15. PRINT/ DISPLAY

Enter:

P = Print a hard copy of this report on your terminal's assigned printer. See the Edit Terminal Records Chapter for instructions on how to assign printers.

D = Display this report on this screen. See the General Data Entry Instructions Chapter on how to control the screen display.
