Use this program to:

• Create records identifying incentive campaigns for travel agents. Certain campaigns offer additional commissions or other incentives to travel agents for bookings during the campaign period.

Typically, a commission is paid to a travel agency when one of its employees books a reservation with a car rental operator. In addition to the commission paid to the company, incentives are sometimes offered to the individual travel agents to encourage bookings.

This program is used to set up the incentive campaign plan numbers. This is the first step in the process.

• Some incentive campaigns apply only to registered Travel Agencies (referred to as "registered campaigns".)
• Other incentive campaigns may be open to all travel agents. (referred to as "open campaigns.)

Both methods are addressed in this chapter.

Registered campaigns

For registered campaigns, the following steps are necessary:

• A record for each travel agent eligible for the campaign needs to be set up in the Edit Vendor Employee Records program.
• The travel agencies participating in the campaign need to be set up in the Incentive Participation program.
• When a reservation is booked by an agency participating in the campaign and the reservation falls under the criteria set for the campaign, and the travel agent is on record in the Vendor Employee file, the data can be entered in the Commission subwindow on the Reservation screen.
• A report can be run periodically to track the bookings.

Open campaigns

For open campaigns, all that is necessary is to set up the campaign plan number.

By creating records in this manner, it allows CARS+ to track the activity generated by individual travel agents in response to incentive programs offered by the rental company.

To access the Edit Incentive Campaigns program, type INCCAM (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the Vendor Maintenance menu. The screen will then display:

Enter data as follows:

1. CAMPAIGN CODE	Enter up to 10 alphanumeric characters for the particular incentive campaign code. EXAMPLE: Type NV12345 (RET).
2. NAME	Enter up to 50 alphanumeric characters for a name or description of the campaign. EXAMPLE: Type NOVEMBER WEEKENDS.
3. START DATE	In your selected date format, enter the starting date for the campaign. The date range defined in Fields 3 and 4 refer to the pickup date (starting date) of the reservation. EXAMPLE: Type 110106 (RET).
4. END DATE	In your selected date format, enter the ending date for the campaign. The date range defined in Fields 3 and 4 refer to the pickup date (starting date) of the reservation. EXAMPLE: Type: 111606 (RET)
5. REQUIRE VENDOR	This field defines whether the campaign is "registered" or "open" as explained earlier in this chapter. Blank or "Y" = A vendor is required. This is a registered campaign. N = No, a vendor is not required. This is an open campaign. EXAMPLE: Press (RET)

"OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the Vendor Maintenance menu. The screen will then display:
