Traditionally, RV rentals
return in the morning and new rentals begin in the afternoon, which
allows a same-day turnaround. However, some operations allow customers
to purchase an 'early-bird special' which allows the customer to pick up the
unit early in the morning and return
it late in the day. With these rentals it is not possible to do same
day turnarounds.
For locations that have frequent early-bird specials, this report shows the unit as 'committed' for the entire day of pickup and return.
The starting fleet count is generated by reading the vehicle inventory file. Vehicles that in a "N" type status (not available) are not counted.
The ROF Report appears on the menu in the following three different versions. The instructions for the screens are identical for all three reports:
|
SYNONYM on the Menu |
Differences between the reports |
|
ROF |
Original version, reporting one set of numbers for each date requested: number of committed units on the top row and number of rentable units in the fleet on the second row. |
|
IDEALROF |
In addition to reporting the actual units expected at each location, this version also reports the Ideal Fleet size for each location. Also, two figures are reported for each date, a morning count and an afternoon count. |
|
3RDROF |
This version also reports the Ideal Fleet size, but like the original report, only one set of numbers are reported for each date. |
User tip: For operations not offering early bird specials, the Res/Operating/Ideal Fleet Report (also on the Planning Menu) divides each day into 2 sections: AM and PM. That is, regardless of whether the unit is due back at 8 am or 11 am, it's 'committed' for the entire morning. Similarly, a unit that is reserved with a check out time of 1 pm or 5 pm is 'committed' for the entire afternoon.
