Use this program to define discount programs that are applied to the daily rate of Optional charges based on the quantity of options sold on a rental. This program is used in conjunction with the following programs to set up an Option Discount feature:
  1. Edit Optional Items : where individual Options are defined as being discountable or not.
  2. Edit Locations: where a Discount Code is assigned thus turning on the discount logic for that location.
Refer to the chapter Overview - Option Discounts, Bundles, and Packages for details on how to set up and use this method (as well as others) to offer discounts on options.

To access the program, type QTYDISC (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Option Control Files Menu. The screen will then display:

1. DISCOUNT CODE

Enter up to 2 alphanumeric characters representing this quantity discount program code. This code will be assigned to rental Locations where this discount program will be available

EXAMPLE: Type 1 (RET)

2. DISCOUNT EFFECTIVE DATE

Using you selected date format, enter the date on which this discount program will become effective.


EXAMPLE: Type 060114 (RET)

3. DESCRIPTION

Enter up to 50 alphanumeric characters to describe this discount program.

EXAMPLE: Type SUMMER SO. CALIF OPTION DISCOUNTS (RET)

4. LEVEL 1
Enter the minimum number of discountable Options that must be sold to qualify for this quantity discount program.

EXAMPLE: Type 3 (RET)

5. PERCENT 1
Enter the discount percent that should be applied to the daily rate of discountable options when the number of discountable options on a rental is equal to or greater than the number in Field 4 but is less than the number in Field 6. This percentage will accept up to two characters to the right of a decimal.

EXAMPLE: Type 10 (RET)
6. LEVEL 2
Enter the minimum number of discountable Options that must be sold to qualify for the next level of discounts in this program.

EXAMPLE: Type 4 (RET)

7. PERCENT 2
Enter the discount percent that should be applied to the daily rate of discountable options when the number of discountable options on a rental is either equal to or greater than the number in Field 6, but is less than the number in Field 8. This percentage will accept up to two characters to the right of a decimal.

EXAMPLE: Type 12.5 (RET)

8. LEVEL 3
Enter the minimum number of discountable Options that must be sold to qualify for the highest level of discounts in this program.

EXAMPLE: Type 5 (RET)

9. PERCENT 3
Enter the discount percent that should be applied to the daily rate of discountable options when the number of discountable options on a rental is equal to or greater than the number in Field 8. This percentage will accept up to two characters to the right of a decimal.
