For messages associated with "G" type Hold Codes (grounding type), entering the characters "$1" in the text causes the vehicle's grounding odometer (from the Vehicle Inventory record) to be inserted in the phrase. Entering the characters "$2" causes the vehicle's grounding date (from the Vehicle Inventory record) to be inserted.
EXAMPLE: APPROACHING GROUNDING: $1 KM OR $2.
For messages associated with "R" type Hold Codes (registration type), entering the characters "$1" in the text causes the vehicle's Tab Expiration date (from the Vehicle Inventory record) to be inserted in the phrase.
For messages associated with "M" type Hold Codes (maintenance type), entering the characters "$1" in the text causes the description of the overdue maintenance task (the first 6 characters of the service code) to be inserted in the phrase. Entering the characters "$2" in the text causes either the odometer level or the date for the overdue maintenance task to be inserted in the phrase.
When Hold Codes are created, there are separate fields set up for warning days and warning kms/miles and what are called hard days hard kms/miles. A “warning” message is just that. It displays on the screen and allows the user the choice of continuing. A “hard” message is one which displays and prohibits the vehicle from being used on the transaction. (The user does not have a choice.)
