Introduction:
From time to time, marketing programs may be created which offer coupons or other benefits to renters that are for things other than their car rental. For example, a package of coupons might be offered to area golf courses, amusement parks, restaurants, or other area attractions. These coupons are often times bundled in package and assigned a serial number. In this chapter, the bundle of coupons is referred to as a "ticket". In order to account for these tickets, the first page of the ticket may be dedicated to a receipt form which the customer signs in acknowledgement of receiving it.
Use this program to:
The marketing Promotion Program Report allows you to obtain a listing of those tickets issued.
To access the Edit Marketing program, type EDITMRK (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Sales Control Files Menu. The screen will then display:

11. MINIMUM CLASS HIERARCHY TO QUALIFY |
Enter the minimum hierarchy required in order to qualify for the program. (This refers to the hierarchy numbers assigned to vehicle classes in the Edit Class Codes file which determines the ranking of vehicle classes from the least expensive to the most expensive.) EXAMPLE: Type 45 (RET) User tip: Forced upgrades do not qualify. For instance, assume a customer who reserved a midsize car (which didn't qualify) is given a standard car (which does qualify) because no midsize vehicles were available. Because the customer would be charged for the midsize, the rental would not qualify. The vehicle class meets the minimum but the rate class does not. On the other hand, upsells do qualify. So if the customer agreed to upgrade from the midsize to the standard car, the rental would qualify. This is true regardless of which of the 3 upsell methods your system is configured to use: the upsell matrix, an upsell option, or by changing the rate to the vehicle's class. |
