The Customer Type can be used as the defining item in several reports including:
Reservation Manifest
Selected Customer Reports
Accounts Receivable Aging
Printing labels for mailings
Customer Types are also used in defining different reward levels for the Local Renter Rewards feature. This program can be used to automatically progress a renter to the next reward level based on the number of time he/she has rented.
User tip: The "Promote" field in the Customer Type Code record can be set to block customers in certain type codes from being changed to another type code by the 'times rented' logic. Refer to the Edit Customer Type Codes chapter of the manual for details.
To access this program, type EDTRENT(RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number from the Customer Maintenance Menu. The screen will display as follows:

Enter the number of times a customer needs to rent in order for the Customer Type to be changed automatically to the type shown in Field 2. EXAMPLE: Type 10 (RET) |

Enter the new Customer Type which will become effective once a customer rents the number of times shown in Field 1. EXAMPLE: Type VIP (RET) |
