Enter data as follows:

1. CARS+ DEVICE

Enter up to 40 alphanumeric characters to identify this device. This can be any code that you wish. This is the code that the device will be "known" by in other CARS+ screens.

EXAMPLE: Type TUS-1 (RET)

User tip: Thermeon recommends affixing a label to the device with the device name specified here.

2. ADDRESS

For Worldpay devices:

The address must be in the format of “worldpay
|location_code-lane_number(all lowercase).

The lane number can be any 2-digit number you desire. When multiple devices are used, lane numbers must be unique for each Merchant ID. Therefore, if a single Merchant ID is used by more than one location, a unique lane number must be used even though the location code is different.

EXAMPLE: Type:
worldpay|tus-01

3. MODEL

Enter the model number of the terminal device.

EXAMPLE: Type LANE/3000 (RET)

4. SERIAL#

Enter the Worldpay-assigned serial number. This will be found on a label affixed to the terminal as well as on the box the terminal was shipped in. Note that there will also be a label applied by the manufacturer with their serial number. This is not the correct one. On some devices, the Worldpay serial number will be labeled as "IPSN"

EXAMPLE: Type 123654897258741 (RET)

5. DESCRIPTION

6. IDLE MESSAGE
This field is reserved for future use.

Press F1 to save the configuration. See Note 2 below.

NOTES:

  1. When configuring a new device, after entering the Address into field 2, an error message will be displayed. Press Enter. Then a second message will be displayed asking to ignore the message. Answer "Y". The cursor will then move to field 3.
  2. When configuring a new device for the first time after pressing F1, the terminal device will be updated and reboot. At this time the Lane Management screen will clear and be ready to enter the next device. The terminal device will reboot one more time. The terminal device will be ready for use when it displays the TriPOS logo. If the terminal device displays and activation code, this process was not successful.
  3. When reactivating a deactivated device, after pressing F1, the terminal device will reboot once.
  4. Pressing F4 will deactivate the terminal device. The device name will still be listed when pressing F2 to scroll through the records in the file. The terminal device can be reactivated by loading the deactivated record, supplying the required information in the remaining fields, and pressing F1.
  5. When moving a device from one location to another where the two locations have different Merchant IDs, the terminal device must first be deactivated and then reactivated for the new location.
  6. Creating a terminal device in this program will also create a record in the Edit Counter Devices file, however that program is not to be used to either created or edit Worldpay Lane devices.
