This program is part of the group of programs for capacity controlled rates.

Capacity controlled rates allow you to set a limit on how many reservations/rentals can be booked within a date range under a particular rate code in total or by car class. This feature creates a "Rate Calendar" similar in concept to the Fleet Planning Calendar. This report is designed to give the operator a picture of the current number of bookings for a capacity controlled rate.

To access the Print Rate Availability program, type PRINTRAV (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the Planning Menu. The screen will then display:

Observations:

Both CCAR and FCAR classes are shown on the report which means that the rate illustrated is capacity controlled without regard to vehicle class. In addition, there is no maximum imposed by class. (That line is blank.)

During the time period requested, the control imposed (through the Edit Rate Availability program) is 15 reservations or walk up rentals using this rate on any given day (notice bottom line "Rate Max"). If an attempt is made to create a new reservation using this rate for a date range that includes May 5, this rate would not be available for booking and the following message would display on the Reservation screen:

RATE SPCL IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THESE DATES; SELECT ANOTHER (PRESS RETURN)

Walk-up rentals are subject to the capacity controlled logic as well.
