The Hold Code logic can be used to handle manufacturer recalls. A field in the Hold Code record can flag it as one that requires a repair code when removing the Hold Code (once the recall repair is completed).

This program is used to create those repair codes.

Hertz operations that transmit to CARRENT and use Hold Codes for recall repairs must use these codes to record that the service was done.

To access the program, type EDTRPC or at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Hold Codes sub-menu of the History/Maintenance Menu. The screen will then display:

OPTION: EDIT REPAIR CODES 1 Repair Code 2 Description 3 Hold Code 4 Service Code PRINT 2 3ERASE 4 5 6 7HELP 8

Enter data as follows:

1. REPAIR CODE	Enter up to 2 alphanumeric characters representing a repair code to be used when removing a Hold Code for a manufacturer safety recall. EXAMPLE: Type B2 (RET) User tip: A field in the Hold Codes record is used to designate codes for repairs that are required by manufacturer safety recalls.
2. DESCRIPTION	Enter up to 50 alphanumeric characters for a description. EXAMPLE: Type PARKING BRAKE RECALL (RET)
3. HOLD CODE	Enter the Hold Code that this Repair Code is design to lift, if any. EXAMPLE: TYPE F (RET)
4. SERVICE CODE	Enter the Service Code to be used to record the fact that the Hold Code in the previous field has been repaired. EXAMPLE: Type A5 (RET)
