Use this program to:

  • Change the status of a voided RA back to that of a Void -P (Preprint).

Hertz Canada runs a program exclusive to them that changes unfilled pre-printed RAs to voids and converts the reservations to no-shows. Although pre-prints are held for only 4 hours after the intended pick-up time, their reservations should be open for 24 hours.

This program allows the user to convert a voided RA back to that of a Void-P and re-opens the reservation (Res Status changes to from "N" No-show to"O" Open.)

User tip: The GVT record "UNNOSHOW" must be set up prior to using this program. A value must be entered in the numeric field indicating the number of days difference allowed between RA's close date and the current date.

To access the program, type UNNOSHOW (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Hertz Canada Programs Menu. The screen will then display:

Enter data as follows:

1. RA NUMBER

Enter the RA number you wish to change back to Void-P status.

EXAMPLE:Type T7291943

In order the RA to be called to the screen, the following conditions must be met:

The RA status must be "V" (Void).

The Employee code must be "NOSHOW".

The difference between RA's close date and the current date must be less than the value in numeric field the GVT record "UNNOSHOW".

If these conditions are not met for the RA # entered in Field 1, the following message will displayed and the RA # is removed:

THIS RA IS NOT A VOIDED PRE-PRINT AVAILABLE TO BE REOPENED.

If the conditions are met, the reservation associated with the RA is examined. If the Reservation's status is "F" (Filled), the following message displays:

THE RESERVATION FOR THIS PRE-PRINT HAS BEEN USED ON ANOTHER RENTAL.

2.CUSTOMER NAME

The customer's name displays in this field.

3. PICKUP LOCATION

The pickup location displays in this field.

PRESS "F1" AT "OPTION:" TO BEGIN .

User tip: After pressing F1, you are instructed to enter your user name and password.

If the save is accepted, the following occurs:

The RA is flagged as a Void-P.

The Reservation's status is changed to "O".

The Reservation's RA # is set to the RA #.

The RA employee field is initialized.

The status change is logged in the RA Log file with the date and time and employee code of the user performed the operation.

If the user name does not match the code the user logged in to the session, the save is terminated and the following message displays:

YOU ARE NOT SIGNED ON TO THIS TERMINAL, THIS FUNCTION IS NOT ALLOWED.
