This program is used to refine the authority granted to users of the Incident Entry logic.

While the "Issue Certificates" field in the User Access File can be used to define whether or not a user can issue a certificate on a RA, a Res or RA, or without a Res or RA, it does not provide for the certificate limits to vary on each type of transaction. The Edit Employee Empower program is designed to provide this type of detailed limits.

For example, this program can be used to impose the following limits:

Counter Sales Reps - allowed to issue rental certificates up to $100 and customer service adjustments up to $50. Certificates can be issued only on RAs.

Location Managers - allowed to issue rental certificates up to $100 and customer service adjustments up to $200. Certificates can be issued only on reservations and/or RAs.

Area Managers - allowed to issue rental certificates up to $100 and customer service adjustments up to the total rental charges.
Certificates can be issued without a valid reservation and/or RA.

Use the Edit Employee Empower program to set up these various levels.

User tip: This file is optional. If it isn't defined, Incident Entry works without it. However, once an Empower Code is set up, then an Empower Code must be set up for all levels used in the "Issue Certificate" field in the Edit User Access File.

User tip: A field in the User Access Record can be used to restrict the user to 'view only' mode. In that mode, no records can be added, edited, or deleted.

TO DELETE A RECORD: Press F4. The following prompt will appear:

ENTER CDPID# TO BE DELETED:

If the number entered matches the number of the record displayed on the screen, the following prompt will appear. Enter "Y" or "N" as appropriate.

ARE YOU SURE (Y/N) ?

If the number entered does not match, the following message will display:

ENTRY DOES NOT MATCH, DELETE ABORTED


To access the program, type EDITEMPW (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Incident Entry sub-menu of the Daily Procedures menu. The screen will then display:

1. CODE

Enter 1 alphanumeric character to define the Empowerment Code

EXAMPLE: Type 1 (RET)

2. DESC

Enter up to 50 alphanumeric characters for a description.

EXAMPLE: Type COUNTER SALES REPS & MANAGER TRAINEES (RET)

3. CSADJ MAX

Enter the maximum amount allowed for a customer service adjustment.

If this field is blank, the limit is the gross total of the transaction.

EXAMPLE: Type 50.00 (RET)

4. CERT RA

Indicate whether or not a certificate is allowed on a RA.

Y = Yes, a certificate can be issued against a RA.

N = No, a certificate cannot be issued against a RA.

Blank = A certificate can be issued without it applying to a RA.

EXAMPLE: Type Y (RET)

5. CERT RES

Indicate whether or not a certificate is allowed on a reservation.

Y = Yes, a certificate can be issued against a reservation.

N = No, a certificate cannot be issued against a reservation.

Blank = A certificate can be issued without it applying to a reservation.

6. CERT MAX

Enter the maximum amount allowed for a certificate.

If this field is blank, the limit is the amount of the charges using the F8 Estimate.

If this field is used, the limit is the smaller of the charges using the F8 Estimate or the amount defined in this field.

EXAMPLE: Type 100.00 (RET)

7. TOTAL MAX

Enter the maximum amount allowed for all CS Adjustments and rental certificates on a single reservation and its RA.

If this field is blank, the limit is the gross total of the transaction.

EXAMPLE: Type 150.00 (RET)

B. Control of Certificate and CS Adjustment Amounts:

1. Hard Problem Codes - limited to the revenue amount of the item.

2. All Problem Codes - Limited to the amount entered in the "Max Amount" field of the Problem Code record.

3. Empower Logic - Limited to amount in CSADJ Max and CERT Max fields

When issuing a certificate, GVT record CERTMAX may further limit amount.

If fields are blank, limited to gross of transaction

Total of all CS Adj's and Cert's on a single res or RA limited to amount in "Total Max" field; if field is blank, limited to gross of transaction.

Note: "Maximum Discount" field in User Access File is not used.
