Care must be taken in assigning the code to corporate rates when they are set up as tiered rates and "change-to" rules are involved. If there are more than 4 tiers and the rates are linked to each other through the minimum/maximum days fields and the "change-to" logic is in force, then the first 4 characters of the rate codes must be identical such as Rate Code 1234A and Rate Code 1234B. If this rule is not followed and the first four characters do not match, the CDPID logic will detect a "contract broken" situation and all privileges associated with the CDPID# will be cancelled. Refer to the chapter titled Hertz Reservation Interface for more information on how "change-to" rates are handled by the Reservation Interface program. |

For Rate Products with a monthly rate, enter the minimum number of days a customer must keep a vehicle in order to qualify for the monthly rate. There is a field on the Edit Misc. Control Fields screen that also refers to monthly rentals. It is used to define the number of days a rental must go in order for the charges to start again after a monthly rate is charged. In other words, it is the maximum number of days that fall under the monthly rate. These 2 fields interact as follows:

In addition to this field being used to restrict access to a rate product, it also affects the data transmitted in the EDRB Any rate code not on file in OKC must be set to send a substitute “special” rate code. Failure to do so will cause the RA to be rejected on the EDRB transmission. Rate products which are on file in OKC should have this field set so that the actual rate product code is set.
