| 1. LOCATION FILE NAME | The default name for the merge file displays in this field. |
| 2. CORP INS REV SPLIT |
This field applies to US licensees doing insurance replacement rentals. When a corporately owned vehicle is used for an insurance replacement rental, the revenue split is 50/50 -- regardless of the return location. In order for that percentage to apply, it must be entered in a field in the customer records for the foreign locations. Rather than having to enter it manually in each individual record, this field is provided so that the customer records for the foreign locations can be updated with the percentage when the locations are merged each month. Enter the owning corporate location's percentage for rentals where their vehicles are used by licensees on insurance replacement rentals. EXAMPLE: Type 50 (RET) |
| 3. BRAND CODE |
With the merger of Hertz and DTAG, the location file provided by Hertz now contains all Dollar and Thrifty locations as well. This file will also potentially contain Firefly locations. The brand codes are: ZE = HertzThis field allows the entry of more than one brand. For dual or multiple-branded operations, this program must be run for all appropriate brands at one time. Failure to do this will result in the foreign location records for the brand(s) not specified being "closed" (customer type changed to CLOSD). Enter the Brand Code(s) for the desired brand(s). Separate multiple brand codes with a space. All locations belonging to the specified brand(s) will be merged into the CARS+ database. EXAMPLE (single brand): Type ZE (RET) EXAMPLE (dual brand): Type ZR ZT (RET) |
Closed locations: If the location no longer exists in the Hertz file, the customer type for the location in CARS+ will be changed to "CLOSD".
New locations: If the location exists in the Hertz file and doesn't exist in CARS+, a new customer record for the location will be created in CARS+. Customer numbers are created as follows: The first character is the first letter of the state or province code,. The next 5 characters are the alpha-numeric location code. For example, Los Angeles, California, is CLAX01.
These new locations will be created as Customer Type "F" as a foreign location, and the store location brand will be entered in the Employer Name Field.
Example: "ZE" for a Hertz location.
Changes to locations: If the location information in the Hertz file is different from that in existing records in CARS+, the data will be updated (new address, phone number, etc.)
Note: Foreign location records will not be created for your owned locations (based on the 7-digit location number.)
