Each time a physical inventory is entered into CARS+ a file is created containing the vehicle number, date and time of the inventory, current location and status. This program is used to purge older records from the physical inventory file.

Unlike most other purge programs, this one is not dependent upon other purges being run first. Therefore, it can be run at any time.

Purge Vehicle File

Note that when the Purge Vehicle File program is run, in addition to purging the vehicle file, physical inventory records are also purged for those vehicles through the sale date entered in the in Purge Vehicle File program.

To access the Purge Physical Inventory File program, type PURGEINV (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number from the Purge Non-Dependent Files menu. The screen will then display:

Enter data:

1. CUTOFF DATE

This field defaults to a year earlier than the current date. Enter a different cutoff date or press (RET) to accept the default date. EXAMPLE: Press (RET)

Press F1 to do the purge.
