I. INTRODUCTION This chapter outlines the features related to the collection and protection of PID data in CARS+.

In the process of opening a rental agreement, a significant amount of personal data is collected concerning the renter. This includes their address, phone numbers, credit card information, drivers license number and other government issued identification numbers. CARS+ can be configured to:

• Require specific fields of PID data before allowing a rental to take place.
• Mask much of this data once entered to protect it from "prying eyes".

This chapter summarizes the set up for requiring and protecting PID data.

II. SET UP
A. Requiring Specific PID Fields

Use the following fields in Edit Miscellaneous Control Fields and Edit Locations to make selected PID field required on all rentals.
