In order to provide roadside assistance to their renters, some operations contract with a third party company to provide the service. To register their vehicles for this service, the rental operator must provide the service company with an ascii file containing information about their fleet on a frequent basis. This program is used to generate the ascii download.

Note: Prior to generating the first report, the "rsa" directory must be created off of the base CARSDIR directory. (It needs to be created only once.) Contact Thermeon's Customer Support Dept. to have this directory created for you.

To access the program, type RSARPT (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Hertz Australia Menu. The screen will then display:

At this time, the following clients make use of this program:

For Hertz Australia:

A field in the Location record is used to define whether or not the location’s vehicle data is exported to the Roadside Assistance file. The choices are:

export data on all vehicles owned by the location.
export data on only those vehicles owned by the location which are in status “O” .
export no data
If data is exported, the file is provided semi-weekly. Data is included on all vehicles in the fleet except for those vehicles that have a Sold status (S) and those whose Model Code shows a "X" in the RSA Warranty field.

For each vehicle, several pieces of data is included in a tab delimited record such as unit number, owning location, purchase date, license plate, make, model, etc.

For Thrifty Australia:

The exported data is on all vehicles except those that are sold and those that are foreign.

The licensees on stand-alone systems run this program and forward it to corporate where it is combined with all others to produce a single file that is delivered to the roadside assistance company.

For each vehicle, several pieces of data is included in a comma delimited file such as VIN number, license plate, makemodel color, purchase date, turn back date, location address, etc.
