All other Hertz Locations should use the International merge program.
To access the Merge US/CA CDP Data program, type MRGCDPID (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the Hertz Data Import Programs Menu. The screen will then display:

1. RATE GROUP |
Most CARS+ users should accept the default of "ALL" in this field by pressing (RET). However, to limit the update to certain rate sets (such as when an operation is part of a shared system), enter a Rate Group. A Rate Group is comprised of one or more Rate Sets. In order to run this program for a response other than "ALL", at least one Rate Group must be set up. Refer to the chapter of the manual titled Edit Rate Group Codes for more information. EXAMPLE: Press (RET) |
|
2. TEMPLATE RATE PROD CODE |
Enter the name of the Rate Product whose rules are used as a template for receiving CDPID rates. EXAMPLE: Type TEMP (RET) |

3. RATES EFFECTIVE DATE |
Enter the first day of the month for which these Rates are effective. If using CARS+ Internet, the date will be provided in the e-mail message from Thermeon. If using CARS+ on a stand-alone system, this date will be on the diskette label. This date must be the current date or a date in the past. If you attempt to enter a future date, the following message will display:
EXAMPLE: Type 080104 (RET) |
|
4. CLONE FROM EXISTING RULES ON NEW |
Enter:
EXAMPLE: Type N (RET) User tip: Note that this field applies only to changes found in the Rates page and not the Rules part of the record. This field also works in conjunction with Field 5. |
| 5. USE TEMPLATE FREE MILES |
This field is provided for licensees in Canada that are allowed
to impose a limit on the free kilometers allowed on corporate rates.
Instead of the free kms coming from the corporate rate data, during the
merge the free km limit from the Template Rate will be used. Enter:

| 6. LOCAL MILEAGE RATE |
Like the field above, this field is provided for licensees in
Canada that are allowed to impose a
limit on the free kilometers allowed on corporate rates. If the field
"Use Template Free Miles" is set to "Y", enter the rate that should be
charged for miles/kms over the free allotment. EXAMPLE: Press (RET) |
|

EXAMPLE: Press (RET). NOTE: The default setting should not be changed unless specifically instructed to do so by Thermeon Customer Support. |
| 10. BRAND CODE |
Enter in this field the brand code appropriate for the data files currently in place. EXAMPLE: Type ZE (RET) Other brand codes are: ZE for Hertz; ZR for Dollar; ZT for Thrifty. NOTE: The Brand Code entered here must exist in the Edit Locations File and will be used to populate a field in the Edit Corporate Contracts File. User TIp: When loading a CDPID to a Res or a RA, Cars+ will attempt to find a contract record with a Brand ID that matches the Pickup/Open location of this Reservation or Rental Agreement. If a match is not found, Cars+ will use the record with a blank Brand ID if one exists. |
PRESS "F1" AT "OPTION:" TO SAVE THE RECORD.
Additional Notes about the Merge program:
The CDP Merge program populates the Inter-city Mileage Field and the 1-Way Field (highlighted in bold type below).
| OPTION: __ EDIT RENTAL RULES/RATES Ln Class S Day Week Month Xday Hour Mile IntCty Empl 1Wy Prc 001 002 003 004 005 |
IntCty: The Inter-city field is used for an alternate mileage rate that applies to one-way rentals to foreign locations. If the field is blank, the mileage rate in the “Mile” Column is used.
1Wy: The following responses may be entered in the One-way field:
N = One way rentals to foreign locations are not allowed for this class. This is applicable only if the Intercity Chg (Intercity Change to) field on page 1 is blank. If that field is blank (meaning one-way rentals to foreign locations are allowed), this column is used to restrict individual classes from one-way rentals.
M = One way is allowed, and the following message is displayed in Reservations at Open:
SPECIAL INTERCITY CONDITIONS MAY APPLY, CHECK FIELD BULLETIN
Y or Blank = One ways are allowed; no special message displays.
Default values for this field can be set in the template rate product(s) (the rate product entered in fields 1 and 2). If an Intercity mileage rate is supplied in the CDPID data from Hertz, this field will be set to "Y", meaning Intercity rentals will be allowed for this class on this rate product.
