The actions permitted depend on whether or not the rate is restricted. A 'restricted' rate is one that has a "C" in the "Corp. Std." (corporate standard) field of the rules record.


Unrestricted Rates:

Rates that are unrestricted can be brought up in this program and the following actions are allowed:

  • Create a new version (new effective date) with new rates on the second page.
  • Edit the termination date and comment fields on existing rates.

User tip: If a rule change is needed, a user with access to Edit Local Rates or Edit Rental Rules/Rates program must make that change.

Restricted Rates:

Rates that are restricted (Corp Standard field = C), can only be viewed. They cannot be edited and cannot be cloned.

User tip: If a rule change is needed, a user with access to the standard Edit Rental Rules/Rates program must make that change.

To access the program, type RATESR (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Rate Control Files Menu. The screen will then display:

Enter data as follows:

VIEW EXISTING RATES

To view existing unrestricted rates, enter the rate set and product or use F2 to scroll through the unrestricted rate records. Press F8 from the "OPTION" field to switch to the next page to see the monetary rates.

To view existing restricted rates, the rate set, product, effective date and time must be entered.


CREATING/CLONING NEW RATES

To enter new monetary rates, the existing unrestricted rate record must first be cloned (copied) from an existing record. To do so:

EDITING THE TERMINATION DATE OR COMMENT

These fields can be changed on existing unrestricted rate records.


ENTER DATA AS FOLLOWS:

1. RATE SET

Enter up to 6 alphanumeric characters to indicate the rate set that applies to your default location. If you attempt to enter a different rate set, the following message will display:

INVALID RATE SET

EXAMPLE:Type AP (RET)

2.PRODUCT

Enter up to 12 alphanumeric characters to indicate the Rate Product.

EXAMPLE:Type WKEND(RET)

3. DATE

Using your selected date format, enter the effective date for the Rate Product.

If you enter a new date without having first copied the rates from the second page, the following message will display:

NOT AUTHORIZED TO CREATE NEW RULES REC - ONLY CLONE.

4.TIME

Using your selected time format, enter the exact time that this Rate Product goes into effect.

EXAMPLE:Type 0000 (RET)

5. TERMINATION DATE

Using your selected date format, enter the termination date if one applies. The termination date can be changed on any unrestricted record.

6. COMMENT

Enter up to 50 alphanumeric characters for any miscellaneous comments related to this Rate Product. The comment can be changed on any unrestricted record.

This comment will be displayed as follows:

  • Whenever this rate is shown on a Rate File search using the F6 search feature from the Reservations or RA Open screen.]
  • Whenever a Shift/F7 search is done from the Rate Field of the Reservations and RA Open programs. Rates listed in this pop-up window are sorted by the Comment entered in this field.
  • On a rate file printout.

EXAMPLE:Type WALK-UP WEEKEND - DISCOUNTABLE(RET)

7. SEARCHABLE

A search of the Rate File is available from the Reservation and RA Open screens using the F6 key. This field determines whether or not this Rate Product will be included or skipped when searching the Rate File.

The searchable flag can be changed on any unrestricted record.
