The Edit Opening Fields program allows the user to perform a variety of features that edit rental agreements. Typically, these edits override important system controls. Rather than give free access to all features available through Edit Opening Fields, a "feature profile" can be created which will allow users to perform certain tasks from RA Open or Batch RA Open, thus limiting the need for users to have access to the Edit Opening Fields program.

If no profile codes are created, all of the features listed can be performed only from Edit Opening Fields. To allow users to perform one or more of the listed features from On-line RA Open and/or Batch RA Open, create a profile code defining which tasks are allowed. Then enter the profile code in the user's User Access File record. Profile codes can also be entered in the Location record. (The record in the User Access File takes precedence over the record in the Location record.)

To access this program: To access the Edit Feature Edits Profiles program, type EDITFEP (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the Security System menu. The screen will then display:

Enter Data As Follows:

1. FEATURE EDITS PROFILE	Enter up to two alphanumeric characters for the profile code. EXAMPLE: Type 12 (RET)
	For the remaining fields, enter one of the following: 1 = allowed in On-line Open, Batch RA Open, and Edit Opening Fields 2 = allowed in Batch RA open and Edit Opening Fields 3 = allowed in Edit Opening Fields only
2. DBR DATE EDITS	Edit the Open DBR Date/Time on all open RAs. Note that a field in the User Access File record can be used to restrict or grand access to the DBR date field in Batch RA Open and Batch RA Close.) User Note: Access to the Open date and Time is ci=urrent restricted to just Edit Opening Fields.
3. OPEN LOCATION/ DRAWER EDITS	Edit the Opening Location or Drawer on open or closed RAs
4. COMMISSION % AMOUNT EDITS	Editing the commission percent or amount on closed rental agreements can be done ONLY in Edit Opening Fields. Editing the commission percent or amount on open RA can be controlled here or by using the "Block Commission Edit" field in the Edit User Access File.
5. VOIDED RA BACK TO OPEN	Change the status of a voided RA back to Open. For Hertz operations reporting to OKC via EDRB, unvoiding a RA is permitted only before the RA has been transmitted on EDRB.
6. POSTING CODE OF UNPOSTED RA	Edit the Posting Code of an unposted RA.
7. QUESTIONABLE RA FLAG REMOVE	Remove the Questionable flag from an RA that has been flagged as Questionable.
8. LINK RESERVATION TO A RA	Link a missed Reservation to a RA.
9. OPENING EMPLOYEE CODE EDITS	Edit the Employee Code of the opening rental agent.
10. PREPAID FUEL FLAG ON OPEN	Edit the Prepaid Fuel flag on an open RA
11. REMOVE PREVENT CLOSE FLAG	Remove the “Prevent close” flag from an open RA. This can also be done from Batch RA Open if the user's record in the User Access File is defined that way.
12. AIRPORT ARRIVAL FLAG	Change the airport arrival flag on an open or closed RA.
13. ADD TOUR VOUCHER TO CLOSED	Adding a tour voucher to a closed (unposted) RA can be done ONLY through Edit Opening Fields.
14. AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED OPTION	Add an automatically applied option back to a RA from which it was removed.
15. CUSTOMER'S NAME EDIT	Edit a customer's name.
16. DEPOSIT DATE PRIOR TO TODAY	Add a deposit with an earlier date than the current date
17. ADDITIONAL DRIVER START/END DATES	Allows a user to make the start date and time of an additional driver different that the start date and time of the RA they are associated with.

Example of a profile code allowing items 5, 7 ,8, 10, 11 and 17 to be performed from on-line RA Open and items 4, 12, 14, and 15 to be performed from Batch RA Open:

After creating the Profile Code, place it in the Location record and/or the user's User Access File record.

• Users with access to on-line RA Open, will be able to perform items marked with a '1' .
• Users with access to Batch RA Open will be able to perform those items marked with a '1' and a '2'.
• In order to perform the tasks marked with a '3', a user MUST have access to Edit Opening Fields. That is the only program that allows those types of edits.
