The numbers at the top of the screen (12345678901234567890) are to aid in monitoring the number of digits entered (up to 20 digits).

1. CARD# LOW

Each type of card has a specific set of identifying characters. For example, all MasterCard numbers begin with the character 5, while all VISA cards begin with the character 4.

Fields 1 and 4 are used to define the acceptable number range for each card type.

Enter the lowest card number possible for the card type being defined (in Field 7).

As an example, Card# Low for a MasterCard is 51 followed by 14 zeros (16 characters in total).

EXAMPLE: Type 5100000000000000(RET)

2. CARD EFF DATE

This field is used for the effective date of the card type.

3. CARD LENGTH
Enter the number of characters for the card type.

EXAMPLE: 16 (RET)

4. CARD# HIGH
Enter the highest card number possible for the card type being defined (in Field 7).

EXAMPLE: Type 5999999999999999 (RET)

Enter one of the following card types to define this BIN range:
C = credit card

P = prepaid/gift card
EXAMPLE: Type C (RET)

Note: The codes above must be set up in Edit Card Type Records.

8. CARD ISSUING CTRY Certain ranges of cards from the major credit card companies are assigned to various countries. This field and the next one are used to define the country and currency code for foreign credit cards so that currency exchange logic is used on the transaction. If this applies, entry the country code.

9. CARD CURRENCY
This field is related to the one above. If this applies, enter the currency code.
10. CDPID NUMBER

This field can be used to link a type of credit card with a CDPID. If no other CDPID is on the RA at the time of Open, this one will be loaded on the RA along with all privileges and discounts. If added to the RA at Close, only discounts apply.

EXAMPLE: Type 445635 (RET)

11. CHECK DIGIT?
There is a check digit field in Edit Card Definitions that defines if types of credit cards use the check digit logic. Nearly all of them do, so this field is usually blank. If there is a exception for a particular bin range, enter "N" in this field to turn off the check digit logic for this particular bin range.

User tip: Records in this file cannot be deleted. Instead, use Field 5 to enter an Expiration Date if the BIN range is no longer valid.

PRESS "F1"AT "OPTION:" TO SAVE THE RECORD.
