Through the use of the Edit Terminal Records program, each VDT is assigned a default location. That is, we inform the system of the physical location of each VDT. Occasionally, it is helpful to be able to sign on the system at one location as if you were physically at another location. This is especially true when doing batch data entry. This program allows the user to temporarily change the location of the user's VDT. Any change made through this program will remain in effect until a second change is made or the user logs off.

Access to this program is blocked if the user's Employee Code has been restricted to a single location through the User Access File record.

To access the Change Default Location program, type CHGLOC (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the System Configuration menu. The screen will then display your default location assignment.
