In order to conserve disk space and improve processing speed, the Fleet Planning Calendar is restricted to a limited number of months into the future. The Extend Planning Calendar program is used to:
  1. Initially set up the planning calendar feature.
  2. Extend the planning calendar one or more months into the future.
  3. Set up a calendar for a newly defined class of vehicles or new locations.

To access the Extend Planning Calendar program, type EXTEND (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the Fleet Planning menu. The screen will then display:

OPTION: EXTEND PLANNING CALENDAR

1. Extend through date 04-12-04

Last extension through 09-30-03
Performed on date 06-02-03

Enter data as follows:

1. EXTEND THROUGH DATE

Using your standard date format, enter the new ending date for the planning calendar. It is suggested that the calendar be limited to the coming 3 or 4 months.

EXAMPLE: Type 051204 (RET)

The remaining fields on the screen document the last extension that has been made to the planning calendar. Usually, the date entered into Field 1 should be 30 days out from the "Last extension through" date displayed.

The screen will then display:
