In some airport locations, it is common practice to have employees greet incoming passengers while on their way from baggage claim to the rental counter area with the objective of securing a customer for a walk up rental. The greeting employee (gate agent) typically begins a rental agreement on paper and the customer brings that paper to the rental counter.

A setting in the Location record can add a field to the RA Open screen for the employee code of the gate agent who secured the customer.

Use this program to:

To access the program, type GATERPT (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Additional Daily Reports Sub-Menu of the Daily Procedures Menu. The screen will then display:

Enter data as follows:

1. START DATE

The date range on this report depends on whether open or closed RAs are selected in the "Open/ Close/Both" field below.

For Open RAs, the date range refers to the open DBR date

For Closed RAs, the date range refers to the Close DBR Date.

For both Open and Closed RAs, the date range refers to the open DBR date.

Using the selected date format, enter the Starting Date. Press RET to the first day of the previous month.

2. END DATE

Like Field 1 above, the date range on this report depends on whether open or closed RAs are selected in the "Open/ Close/Both" field below.

For Open RAs, the date range refers to the open DBR date

For Closed RAs, the date range refers to the Close DBR Date.

For both Open and Closed RAs, the date range refers to the open DBR date.

Using the selected date format, enter the Ending Date. Press RET to the last day of the previous month.

3. LOCATION

Enter:

1. Up to 6 alphanumeric characters to select a single location.

2. A Group Name representing several locations (see the Chapter Edit Group Names for a discussion on location groups). Remember, the first character of a Group Name is the plus sign "+".

3. Press RETURN to include ALL locations.

EXAMPLE: Type TUS (RET)

4. START EMPLOYEE

To limit the report to a single employee or a range of employees, enter the starting employee code. Press (RET) to default to the first employee.

5. END EMPLOYEE

To limit the report to a single employee or a range of employees, enter the starting employee code. Press (RET) to default to the last employee.

6. OPEN/CLOSE/
BOTH

Enter:

O = report only currently open RAs

C = report only closed RAs

B = report both open and closed RAs

EXAMPLE: Press (RET)

User tip: The selection in this field controls whether the date range in Fields 1 and 2 is the open DBR date or the closed DBR date.

7. WALKUP/REZ/ BOTH

Enter:

W = Report walk up RAs only

R = Report only RAs with a reservation

B = Report RAs whether or not they have a reservation

7. POSTED ONLY

Enter:

Y = Report only posted RAs

N = Report RAs whether they are posted or not.

EXAMPLE: Type N (RET)

User tip: If selecting "Open" or "Both" in Field 6, this field must be set to "N". The report can be limited to posted RAs only when "Closed" RAs (Field 6) are selected.

8. DETAIL/ SUMMARY

Enter:

D = generate a detailed report listing each RA for each employee.

S = generate a summary showing only the totals for each employee.

DISPLAY

Enter:

P = Print a hard copy of this report on your terminal's assigned printer. See the Edit Terminal Records Chapter for instructions on how to assign printers.

D = Display this report on this screen. See the General Data Entry Instructions Chapter on how to control the screen display.

Indication of if the RA was a walk up or the customer had a reservation

Kms/Miles driven

Time and Km/Mile revenue

LDW Revenue

Total Revenue (gross amount of the RA)

Average Daily Earnings (Time, Km/Miles, and LDW divided by rental days)
