This program is used to write damage records from a hand held terminal.

To access the Quick Damage Entry program, type QDMG (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the Damage Sub-menu of the History Maintenance Menu. The screen will then display:

Enter data as follows:

1a. VEH #
Vehicles can either be accessed by their unit number or by their license plate number. To access a vehicle by unit number, enter up to 6 alphanumeric characters representing the unit number of the vehicle damaged. The vehicle's license plate number will automatically be displayed in the second field.

EXAMPLE: Type F9249 (RET)

1b. LIC#
To access a vehicle by license number, type slash "/" and up to 11 alphanumeric characters representing the license plate number of the vehicle damaged. The vehicle's unit number will automatically be displayed in the first field.

EXAMPLE: Type /456789 (RET)

2. DATE
Press (RET) to accept the current date for the damage entry. Or an earlier date can be entered.

3. TIME
Press (RET) to accept the current time for the damage entry. Or an earlier time can be entered.

4 - 8. SC
Enter a 2 character damage Service Code or press Shift/F7 for a pop-up listing of the codes.

The corresponding description for the code is displayed in this field and cannot be edited.

TYPE
Enter a single character representing a Damage Code or press Shift/F7 for a pop-up listing of the codes.

Press "F1" at the "OPTION" to save the record.


The saved record will be written to the Damage file and Vehicle History file. The full Damage Report Entry program will be needed to complete the report and eventually close the claim.
