All commands entered into this screen must first be defined in the Edit Printer Commands program for the type of printers to be used.
To access the Edit Printer Control program, type EDITINT (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the Control File menu. The screen will then display:

Enter data as follows:

1. PROGRAM |
Enter one of the following: 1.The COBOL program name (not the abbreviation used on the menus) of the report that you wish to alter the way it prints. Contact Thermeon Customer Support for the proper program name. 2.Or leave this field blank if the print commands listed below apply to all CARS+ reports. EXAMPLE: Type DBRRPT (RET). |
|
2. TTY |
Enter either: 1.The device name of a single VDT whose report is to be altered. 2. Or leave this field blank so that the printer commands listed in the fields below apply to all VDTs. EXAMPLE: Type dev/ttya2 (RET). |
|
3 - 12. CODE 1 - 10 |
In these fields enter the print commands desired from the list below. Remember, these commands must also be defined in the Print Control Records file. For example, if the CARS+ report printer for VDT dev/ttya2 is a HP Laser Jet printer, then the commands entered here must also be defined for printer type HPLASER. Common Print Commands Are: LANDSCAPE - Changes the printer orientation from portrait to landscape (only available on laser and ink jet printers) COMPR - Compress Print ENDCOMP - Turn off Compress Print LOAD - Load Page to Start Print UNLOAD - Unload Page after Print to Tear off NULL - Send Null Values to Printer RLF - Reverse Line Feed BOLD - Set Print Style to Bold Print UNBOLD - Turn off Bold Print 2HIGH - Set Print to Double High Print 2HEND - Turn off Double High Print 2WIDE - Set Print to Double Wide Print 2WEND - Turn off Double Wide Print xxCPI - Set Characters Per Inch to xx xLPI - Set Lines Per Inch to x xxLPP - Set Lines Per Page to xx RESET - Resets the printer to its defaults |
The following is a sample record for printing DBRs in landscape mode:
| OPTION: __ EDIT PRINT INIT RECORD 1. Program DBRRPT 2. TTY dev/ttya2 3. Code 1 LANDSCAPE 4. Code 2 14CPI 5. Code 3 31LPP 6. Code 4 7. Code 5 8. Code 6 9. Code 7 10. Code 8 11. Code 9 12. Code 10 1SAVE 2NEXT 3ERASE 4DELETE 5 6 7HELP 8 |
NOTE: The standard number of lines per page in a CARS+ report is 62. After each 62 lines, a hard coded page break occurs to force the printer to the next page. When printing landscape, it is suggested that you set your lines per page at 31LPP (one half of 62) so that the number of lines per page will be consistent from page to page.
PRESS "F1" AT "OPTION:" TO SAVE THE RECORD.
