This program is part of the group of programs used to create and manage capacity controlled rates. Capacity controlled rates allow you to set a limit on how many reservations/rentals can be booked for each day within a date range under a particular rate code in total or by car class.

This program is used to re-populate the Rate Availability Calendar after it has been initialized. It is typically used when converting an existing rate to a capacity controlled rate.

While new rates can be capacity controlled immediately, converting an existing rate to capacity control requires that the rate availability calendar be initialized and set up once again (using this program).

For example, Rate ABC may have been set up previously as a regular rate not subject to capacity. Now you want it to be capacity controlled for the summer months. If there are already reservations booked under that rate, they will not be considered unless the rate availability calendar is rebuilt. If it is not rebuilt, the existing reservations will be ignored and the capacity control feature will be applied only to new reservations.

To access the Set Rate Availability program, type SETRAV (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the Planning menu. The screen will then display:
