Overview - Park and Fly Operation

I. INTRODUCTION

For rental operations that offer "park and fly" service, a suite of programs is available through CARS+ to handle the business. "Park and Fly" is defined for CARS+ purposes as renting parking spaces to customers for the purpose of parking their cars (usually while flying out of town).

The CARS+ "Park and Fly" logic consists of the following:

The ability to designate a location as a Park and Fly location.

From a Park and Fly location, provide the ability to:

a. Produce a parking ticket for the customer.

b. Place additional charges such as an oil change or car wash on the ticket..

c. Close the ticket with charges calculated.

This appendix covers the Park and Fly logic features. The programs are very similar to RA Open and RA Close. It is assumed that the reader is familiar with the standard chapters within this manual which cover RA Open and RA Close.

II. COUNTER INSTRUCTIONS

A. Opening a Parking Ticket

To access the Parking Ticket Open program, type the appropriate line number on the Park and Fly Menu. The screen will then display:

The Parking Ticket Open and close programs are quite similar to the RA Open and Close programs. Users familiar with the RA Open and Close should not require additional instruction in opening or closing a parking ticket.

Options Sub-window:

Similar to the RA Open screen, the Options Sub-window is used to sell additional services such as oil change, car wash, detailing, etc. Option Codes must first be set up in the Edit Optional Charges File.

B. Closing a Parking Ticket

To access the Parking Ticket Close program, type the appropriate line number on the Park and Fly Menu. The screen will then display:

In the on-line version, charges calculate automatically as soon as the ticket is brought to the close screen. No additional instruction should be required for those users who are already familiar with the RA Close program.

C. Other Programs

Similar to the RA programs, the following programs can be used for Parking Tickets in edit or batch mode:

D. Due Back Report

The Due Back Report can be run for the Park and Fly Location only. It then lists only the parking tickets that are due to close during the time period request on the report.
