As noted in section 1 of this chapter, each VDT is assigned a default RA printer. This program allows a user to temporarily redirect the RA print output to another printer. Any changes made with this program will remain in effect until either an additional change is made or the user logs off.

To access the Change RA Printer program, type CHGRA (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the System Configuration menu. The screen will then display your default RA printer assignment.

Enter data as follows:

1. RA PRINTER

Enter up to 10 alphanumeric characters to indicate the terminal name of the new printer. Press RET to default to the current assigned printer.

One of the following situations must apply to the terminal name entered:

a. The terminal is defined as a printer in the Terminal Records File. Acceptable entries are local printers or print queues.

OR

b. RAs can be printed on a printer that is connected to the user's own VDT by entering the terminal name of that VDT. This will only work if the terminal record has a remote printer defined in Field 7.

RAs cannot be sent to a printer attached to another user's VDT.

EXAMPLE: Type ttyaalp (RET)

The screen will then display your default RA printer assignment.
