Run a Program

Use this program to execute a program that is not on a CARS+ menu.

Occasionally, it is necessary to execute a program that does not appear on any of the standard menus. This could be one of the manually-run upgrade programs (as specified in a Release Notice), a special clean-up program or other custom program supplied by Thermeon. The Run A Program option is used to call and execute these miscellaneous programs. Generally, Thermeon Customer Support will provide instructions for running the specific program.

The steps for using this program are as follows:

At any menu "OPTION:" field, type RUN (RET) or enter the appropriate number on the Systems Management Menu. The screen will then display similar to the following:

The following field will display at the bottom of the screen:

NAME OF PROGRAM ___________________

At this new field, enter the name of the program you wish to run and press RET.

EXAMPLE: Type UPD63B (RET)

In some cases, the program may not be located in the default CARS+ program directory (named CROBJ). In this event, it will be necessary to type both the directory and program name in this field. Thermeon will provide specific instructions in these cases.

EXAMPLE: Type AROBJ/ARINIT (RET)

Once the program is completed, the screen will return to the menu.

User Tips:

If this option is accessed by accident, simply pres (RET) to exit.
A program may also be executed by typing a quote (") followed by the program name at the "OPTION:" field of any menu. If the user's menu level does not include the Run a Program option, then this feature is disabled as well. Example:
