User tip: Gold Service flags must be set up in this file in order to run a Reservation manifest for "Gold Service Only".

User tip: Customer types are designed as a "VIP" type by entering a "V" in the "Special Logic" field of the Customer Type. Refer to the chapter Overview - VIP Customers and Name in Lights for more information.

To access the Edit Gold Service Messages program, type EDITGLD (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the Hertz Control Files menu, OR, for non-Hertz Users, in the Location Control Menu. The screen will then display:

Press "F2"to scroll through the service messages that have already been loaded into the system.

1. SERVICE FLAG

Hertz operations:

Enter a Gold Service Code used by Hertz to designate a particular type of Gold service.

For international Gold Service this code must match a value that will be sent in the field STAT2-1 N1-TYPE in the mnemonic field "02". Contact Hertz for the values that are appropriate for your country of operation.

EXAMPLE: Type G (RET)

Non-Hertz operations:

Enter a Customer Type Code that is designated as a type that receives "VIP Type" service.

EXAMPLE: Type VIP (RET)

or

Enter a Gold Service Code to designate a particular type of Gold service. This code must also be entered in the Customer Type record in the "Gold Code" field.

EXAMPLE: Type G (RET)


2. DESC

Enter up to 30 alpha characters for a description. This description will print on the Reservation Manifest when this Gold Flag is attached to a reservation.

EXAMPLE (Hertz operations): Type GOLD SERVICE (RET)

EXAMPLE (Non-Hertz Operations): Type VIP SERVICE (RET)

3. & 4. MESSAGE 1 & 2

Enter up to 60 characters in each field for a message for this service record. These messages will display on the Reservations and RA Open screens if the "Display Pop-up" field (below) is set to "Y".

5. SHORT MSG

The short message entered in this field is what displays on a hand-held terminal.

6. DISPLAY
POP-UP

Hertz operations:

Indicate whether or not the messages entered in the fields above will display in a pop-up window on the RA Open screen when the reservation is used to open a contract.

Non-Hertz operations:

In addition to displaying on RA Open, the messages also display on the Reservations screen for customers with the Customer Type Code that matches the Service Code entered in Field 1.

Enter:

Y = Yes, a pop-up window will display the messages.

N = No, a pop-up window will not appear.

EXAMPLE: Type Y (RET)

7. SERVICE LEVEL

NOTE: A service level MUST be entered in this field in order for a Gold code to be recognized and make the gold logic effective.

Hertz operations:

G = Gold.

A = Same level as "G".

P = Platinum, the grace minutes in effect on this contract will be 240 minutes (4 hours).

9 = Platinum Select Service. Same as level "P" except Seamless is not used to requote rates when an extension is made. (See "User Tip" below).


EXAMPLE: Type P (RET)

Non-Hertz operations: Must use "A" in this field.

8. SIGNATURE REQUIRED?
Indicate if a signature is required on the RA. Enter:

Y = The customer's signature is required on the RA.
N = The customer's signature is not required on the RA. Depending on the RA print program, "Signature on file" may print on the RA.

9. GOLD RIDERS?
When pre-printing a Gold RA, should all applicable riders also be preprinted with the note, "Signature On File"?

Y = Yes, pre-print all riders that apply to this rental

N = No, do not pre-print any riders.

10. FREE OPTSET
Enter a Option Set code in this field that contains items that should be given at no charge to rentals with this level of gold service. The Option Set must have already been created in Edit Option Set Codes.
