From time to time you may want to add one or two programs to a user’s access. However, other users who share the same Menu Type should not be allowed access to the new program. Rather than creating a new menu type from scratch, the Clone Menu program can be used to duplicate an existing menu and assign it a new Menu Type and Number. The new record can then be edited in Select Items for Menus program.

To access the program, type CLONEMNU (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Security Menu. The screen will then display:

OPTION: CLONE MENU'S

1 Enter Old Menu Type Name to Clone.
2 Enter Old Menu type number to Clone
3 Enter New Menu type number
4 Enter New Menu Type Name.

Enter data as follows:

1. ENTER OLD MENU TYPE NAME TO CLONE

Enter name of the Menu to be used to clone from.

EXAMPLE: Type AGENT (RET)

2. ENTER OLD MENU TYPE NUMBER TO CLONE

This field displays the Menu Type Number associated with the Menu Name in Field 1.

Accept the number and press (RET)

3. ENTER NEW MENU TYPE NUMBER

Enter the new Menu Type Number which will be associated with the new Menu Type in Field 4.

EXAMPLE: Type 79 (RET)

4. ENTER NEW MENU TYPE NAME

Enter the name of the new Menu (up to 20 characters) that you wish to create.

EXAMPLE: Type AGENT1 (RET)

The screen will then display:

OPTION: CLONE MENU'S

1 Enter Old Menu Type Name to Clone. AGENT
2 Enter Old Menu type number to Clone 80
3 Enter New Menu type number 79
4 Enter New Menu Type Name. AGENT1

PRESS "F1" AT "OPTION:" TO DO THE CLONE.

User Tip:

Once the clone has been done, go to the Select Items for Menus program and edit the new menu to reflect the difference from the menu used to clone from. Then enter the new Menu Type on the appropriate User Access record.
