Use this program to:

Brazil and Mexico obtain a file supplied by their respective postal authorities containing the zip (postal) codes for their countries. These files are created in CARS+ from merge programs:


Merge Brazil Zip (CEP) Codes

Merge Mexico Zip Codes


This edit program can be used to enter or edit individual records in the file.

To access the program, type EDITZIP(RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate number on the Rental Control Files Menu. The screen will then display:

Enter data as follows:

1. COUNTRY CODE

Enter up to 3 alphanumeric characters for the Country Code.

EXAMPLE:Type BRI for Brazil or MXI for Mexico. (RET)

2. ZIP CODE

Enter up to 12 alphanumeric characters for the ZIP Code (or CEP or Postal Code).

EXAMPLE:Type 04642-000 (RET)
3. LOCALITY
 Enter up to 60 alphanumeric characters for the locality or neighborhood.

EXAMPLE:Type DOWNTOWN (RET)

4. CITY

Enter up to 60 alphanumeric characters for the city.

EXAMPLE: Type SAO PAULO (RET)

5. STATE CODE

Enter up to 4 alphanumeric characters for the state code.

EXAMPLE: Type SP (RET)

6. COUNTY

Enter 60 alphanumeric characters for the county.

EXAMPLE: Type SAO BERNARDO DO CAMPO (RET)

7. TOWN

Enter up to 60 alphanumeric characters for the town.

EXAMPLE: Press (RET)

8. STREET

Enter up to 60 alphanumeric characters for the street.

EXAMPLE: Type RUE VISCONDE DE PORTO SEGURO (RET)

9. APARTMENT

Enter up to 60 alphanumeric characters for the apartment.

EXAMPLE: Press (RET)

10. BUILDING

Enter up to 60 alphanumeric characters for the building.

EXAMPLE: Press (RET)

11. EDITABLE Y/N

Most fields loaded from the zip code file cannot be edited from the address window. The exceptions are the street and town fields. Enter:

Y = If loaded from the Zip file, the street and town fields may be edited from the extended address window.

N (or blank) = Those fields cannot be edited from the address window.

EXAMPLE: Type Y (RET)

12. NUMBER RANGE

Enter up to 20 characters representing the street number range. This number range displays when searching the Zip code file.
