This file is used to define which rental locations serve the various suburb areas. Moreover, a priority level can be assigned to the multiple locations that could serve the same suburb.

To access the Edit Suburb Codes program, type EDITSUB (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the Location Control Files Menu. The screen will then display:

EXAMPLE: Type RED HILL (RET)

2. STATE CODE

Enter up to 4 alphanumeric characters representing the state/province code for the suburb entered in Field #1.

EXAMPLE: TYPE CA (RET)

3. LOCATION CODE

Enter up to 6 alphanumeric characters for the Location Code that serves the suburb entered in Field #1.

EXAMPLE: Type TUS (RET)

4. PRIORITY CODE

Enter 1 numeric character to indicate what priority the location in Field #3 has in reference to serving this suburb.

For example, the suburb of Red Hill might be near enough to locations in Irvine, Santa Ana, and Newport Beach to be served by all three. The closest location should be assigned priority code 1, the next closest, priority code 2, etc. This information is then displayed in a suburb search which is available on the Reservation screen only. It enables the Reservation agent to determine which location would be the closest to the renter's locality.

EXAMPLE: Type 1 (RET).
