Physical Master Contract - The actual lease paper signed by the customer. A Physical master contract may have multiple Master Contract records in CARS+.
Master Contract - This is the contract record in CARS+ that contains all the conditions that are common to the individual leasing contracts (known as "son" contracts.) Data includes:
Son Contracts - These are the actual rental lease contracts. A Master Contract will have multiple "son contracts".

Summary of Programs
Master Contract Entry begins the process of entering lease contracts in CARS+. It is in this file that the common conditions for a Master Contract are entered. These conditions will apply to all of the Master Contract's "son contracts" which are the individual rental agreements. Data entered includes the billing information, effective dates, rates, vehicle types (by model) and vehicle quantity.
Open Lease Contracts is the program used to begin the process of opening a lease contract ("son contract".) Vehicles used must be designated as lease type vehicles (Fleet Type = L) in the Vehicle Inventory Control record. In some cases, the son contract is opened before the actual vehicle is delivered to the customer. In that case, the contract is in the "hold" status until the vehicle is delivered.
Delivered Lease Vehicles is used to enter a delivery of a vehicle to the customer. By recording the delivery, the contract status is changed from "hold" to "open" and the opening date and time as well as the driver's information is updated.
Lease Odometer Entry is used to enter monthly odometer and fuel tank readings if needed.
Lease Rental Cloning is the program that closes the son contracts each month, clones the information on them, and opens new son contracts. The user controls when this program is run. If the end of the lease has been reached, son contracts are not cloned.
Lease Cloning Report produces a report of all the son contracts that were opened and closed during the requested time periods. Available parameters may limit the report to a particular Customer and/or Master Contract. Revenue earned is reported.
Lease Never Cloned Report examined closed lease contracts and reports on those that have not been cloned.
Lease Vehicle Report shows vehicle detail for vehicles on all son contracts for a particular Master Contract. Also includes son contracts with temporary vehicle exchanges.
Lease Sweeping Report shows rental agreement detail for all son contracts for a particular Master Contract.
Physical Lease Report lists all Master Contracts that share the same Physical Lease number.
Vehicle Movement Report shows lease RAs opened and closed for vehicles during the requested dates. It includes exchanges and non-rev tickets. Opening and closing dates, time, odometer readings, and fuel levels are reported.
Lease Revenue by Employee is a report that sorts transactions first by employee, next by master contract number, and then by RA number.
Move RA Among Lease Contract is used to move a son contract from one master contract to another.
Printing Lease Invoices:
Lease invoices can be printed using Batch Print Leasing Invoices. Like other invoice programs, a Print Library number is used to identify the format of the invoice. Thermeon customers can arrange to have a customized format created. Contact Thermeon's Customer Support Dept. for more information.
Damage on Lease Vehicles
Damage can be added to a son RA as it would normally be added to a retail RA. It may be done either while it is open or after it has been closed (by being cloned) using Edit Closed RA.
