Use this program to change the configuration of the Customer File search from the standard set up.

To access the Configure Customer Search program, type EDSCST (RET) at any menu "OPTION:"field or the appropriate line number on the Rental Control Files menu. The screen will then display:

Fields 1 - 9: Function Keys

Six function keys can be selected by entering the number of the function key in the appropriate fields.


In the default search of the Customer File (shown below) the Function Keys are set up as follows:

The configuration screen for the default Function Key set up is shown below. The Name is assigned Key #1. The Customer # is assigned Key #2. The filter by City is assigned Key #3, etc.

Up to six Function Keys can be selected:


1. Name Key

Assign a Function key to search by Customer Name.


2. Cust # Key
Assign a Function key to search by Customer Name.

3. CDPID Key

Assign a Function key to search by CDPID number.


4. DL# Key
Assign a Function key to search by the drivers license number.
5. FedID Key
Assign a Function key to search by the Federal ID number.
6. OtherID Key
Assign a Function key to search by the Other ID number.
7. FF Key
Assign a Function key to search by the Frequent Flyer number.
8. Type Filter
Assign a Function key to filter the search by the Customer Type.
9. City Filter
Assign a Function key to filter the search by the City in the address.


An alternative is available by entering a "Y" in up to 6 fields. When a "Y" is entered instead of a number, the Function Keys will be in the order they are listed on the Configuration screen.

If more than 6 Function keys are selected, the following message will display:

TOO MANY FUNCTION KEY VALUES SELECTED


Fields 10 - 20: Display Fields

Use these fields to define what columns of data will display in the search. If all of these fields are left blank, the default columns for the search will be used. They are shown below:

To change the data displayed in the search, indicate which data should be shown by entering a "Y" in those fields.

10 . Cust #

Enter a "Y" to display the customer number.


11. LastName FI
Enter a "Y" to display the full customer last name and the first character of the first name.

12. Last/First Name

Enter a "Y" to display the customer last name and the first name.

13. City
Enter a "Y" to display the city in the home address.
14. State
Enter a "Y" to display the state in the home address.
15. Phone#
Enter a "Y" to display the home phone number.
16. DL#
Enter a "Y" to display the drivers license number.
17. Type
Enter a "Y" to display the customer type.
18. Date
Enter a "Y" to display the date of last activity.
19. CDPID
Enter a "Y" to display the CDPID number.
20. OtherID
Enter a "Y" to display the Other ID number.

Obviously, not all data can be displayed. The screen is limited to 80 characters, and one blank space is left between columns.
