To access the Edit RV Control Record program, type EDITRV (RET) at any menu "OPTION:" field or the appropriate line number on the RV Control Files menu. The screen will then display:

When operating CARS+ in RV mode, the question "Pay by credit card?" comes up whenever a reservation or RA is saved. This field and the next one are used to place an automatic security deposit on the transaction and allow for the amount to vary based on how the question is answered. Enter the amount required for a security deposit when payment is not being made by credit card. EXAMPLE: Type 2000 (RET). User tip: This amount can be edited on the reservation only if the user's record in Edit User Access File is set up with the "Block Discounts" field = blank or N. If that field is set to Y, the amount cannot be edited. |

3. RESERVATION DEPOSIT AMOUNT |
Enter the minimum amount that must be taken as a deposit on a reservation that does not include a tour voucher. EXAMPLE: Type 300 (RET) |
| 4. TOUR CANCEL THRESHOLD DAYS |
Enter the number of days prior to the pickup date that a tour reservation (one with a tour voucher) can be canceled without the tour operator being charged a Cancellation Fee. For example, by entering '45' in this field, tour reservations that are canceled more than 45 days before the scheduled pickup date can do so with no penalty charge. But when canceling a tour reservation within this 45 day period, the user will be required to add a penalty Option Charge to the reservation when changing the Reservation Status to "C". That charge will become the value of the tour voucher and will be posted and invoiced to the tour operator. NOTE: There is no similar logic for canceling a non-tour reservation. EXAMPLE: Type 45 (RET) User tip: The option for the penalty charge must be set up in order to use this feature. |
| 5. GENERATOR OPTION CODE |
Enter the Option Code that should be applied to a reservation of the class of vehicle wanted has a generator. This should be the same Option Code as the one placed in the vehicle record of units with generators. EXAMPLE: Type GENHR (RET) |
| 6. UNLIMITED GENERATOR OPTION CODE |
Enter the Option Code that when included in a tour voucher grants the renter unlimited generator hours. This option can only be sold on a tour voucher. When present on a voucher, the system WILL NOT calculate a charge based on the number of generator hours used. Instead, the cost of this option will be added to the voucher. EXAMPLE: Type UNGEN (RET) |
